Training is available seven days per week using a holistic approach that meets students where they are. Classes are structured, safe, and intentionally designed.
Our Adult Jiu-Jitsu program offers structured training for all experience levels, from complete beginners to seasoned practitioners. We provide morning, midday, evening, and weekend classes, with training available seven days per week.
Training at Ann Arbor BJJ is built around a Constraints-Led Approach (CLA) and task-focused learning. Instead of relying on long, scripted drills, we use task focuses and live grappling to teach timing, decision-making, and problem solving under pressure.
Classes are designed to be challenging, productive, and safe. We scale tasks and intensity so students can progress at their own pace while consistently building a strong foundation that holds up under resistance.
Each class is structured around specific problems and training goals. You’ll spend most of your time in guided live grappling where the task, starting position, and constraints are intentionally chosen. We adjust to the problems in the room and from competition — not randomly selected moves of the week.
This approach helps students improve faster because you’re learning the “why” and “when” of Jiu-Jitsu — not just copying steps. Over time, you become more adaptable, confident, and efficient in real grappling.
We specialize in offering modern and up-to-date scientific teaching methods for learning the grappling arts. Coaching that emphasizes problem-solving, not memorization.
Our adult schedule includes a mix of foundational and advanced training blocks. Free trials typically start in our most accessible class formats so you can learn safely and get up to speed quickly.
Whether you’ve never trained before or you’re looking to sharpen your game, Ann Arbor BJJ is built to meet you where you are and move you forward.
Train under clear instruction, high standards, and a system built for long-term progress.
